When NFL teams screw up concussion evaluation

14 09 2010

I don’t know if Kevin Kolb or Stewart Bradley were run through a full battery of tests for their concussions on Sunday. The quarterback and linebacker, respectively, were knocked almost senseless in the game vs. the Packers. Kolb complained of an injured jaw initially but the injury took a turn for the worse once he settled onto his team’s bench. Of course, he closed his eyes while laying on the field after getting sacked by Clay Matthews, a good indication it wasn’t just his jaw that was hurting. Stewart Bradley stumbled around the field like a punch-drunk boxer after attempting to make a tackle. And both returned to the game.

I wrote a blog post for WeightWatchers.com expressing my views on Eagles head coach Andy Reid — and the Eagles training staff — permitting both players to return.
